This recently completed online exhibit by the South Bristol Historical Society and fifth grade students from the South Bristol School looks back nearly a century to the moment when South Bristol broke away from Bristol. Geography, economy, tourism, and infrastructure all played a part in the decision to separate the towns.

Be sure to check out the slideshow (one of six in the exhibit) that details the scope of the project and how it was embedded in the school’s curriculum.
