Building the Children’s Gate

Construction of the long-awaited new version of the Children’s Gate–which will once again connect the Wadsworth-Longfellow House and Brown Library, and provide a formal entrance to the Longfellow Garden–is well underway. You can read about the big project in this recent Portland Daily Sun article (in which MHS facilities manager Steven Atripaldi is quoted). Below is a brief slideshow of photos taken over a week’s time. The gate is schedule to be completed by June 2, the date of the MHS annual meeting.
