How could you improve an August morning spent sailing on Casco Bay? Do it on the 88-foot schooner Wendameen, built in 1912, with a Portland Harbor historian and skipper as your guide!
Join us on Saturday, August 6, from 10:30AM to 12:30PM for this unforgettable experience. We’ll sail around the Bay while Jim Millinger, Portland Harbor historian, former MHS Trustee, and Casco Bay Lines skipper, talks about the harbor’s past and present. The cost is a very reasonable $35 for MHS members and $40 for non-members.
The 88-foot Wendameen, designed by John Alden, one of America’s most celebrated yacht designers, was built in East Boothbay in 1912. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You can learn more about the schooner here.
Help the crew raise the sails, take a turn at the wheel, or just relax and enjoy the talk and the scenery. This program is a perennial favorite and sells out quickly. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 207-774-1822.
